Coordinators assist families to access inclusive child development opportunities in community preschools or childcare settings. Then they arrange for support in these settings to ensure children have successful experiences. For children and youth from birth to 12 years with youth 13 to 19 served on a case by case basis.  This service operates out of 7055 Alberni Street at the Jean Pike Centre for Children and Youth.  Referrals to this service can be made by self referral or by any other professional resource.

Our workers provide individualized planning to promote each child's development, believe that children learn best through play and together with their typically developing peers, teach children sign language and the whole preschool gets to enjoy learning the signs, will offer activities at the level that all children will enjoy, will stimulate children to develop their oral motor skills, are partners in providing activities and strategies is to support children, make referrals to other services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, generic child, youth and family services and other specialists, supports preschool children through the transition to attending kindergarten.
