| A School and Community Service Worker (SCSW) Certificate is a requirement for most adult services positions. The SCSW gives participants the knowledge and abilities around the intricacies of working with people with developmental disabilities. Within Powell River, Vancouver Island University is the only educational institution that delivers this program but there are a number of other institutions throughout the province that run equivalent programs. | ![]() |
