There are an unlimited number of outdoor activities you can do in and around Powell River and the Sunshine Coast year round. As "The Pearl on the Sunshine Coast" the Powell River region has many treasures. Eagles soar overhead while seals and sea lions frolic in the ocean. Our underwater world is filled with wild and exotic creatures for you to discover.

The layout of the Powell River area allows for easy access for on and off-road biking. The Powell River region of the Sunshine Coast has an extensive trail system. From short 20 minute walks to the 180km Sunshine Coast Trail, you'll find hikes to suit any level of experience.

The many lakes and sheltered ocean waters offer opportunity to discover leisure activities such as canoeing or kayaking, as well as boating, camping adn day trips for a swim. Local anglers enjoy casting their line into their choice of fresh or salt water year round. The Powell Forest Canoe Route is one of Powell River's recreational jewels, encompassing 8 lakes, 77 km of canoeing and 10 km of portaging.
